Pleasant Lake – Wayne E. Klink, Jr, 78, of Pleasant Lake died Saturday October 21, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born at home in Salem Center, IN on November 16, 1944, to Wayne E Klink, Sr and Lilly Mae (Feeney) Klink.
Wayne has been in the Trucking business all his life. He hauled his first load of gravel at the age of 11 and then worked for Rieth-Riley building Interstate 69. In 1965, with his wife Carol, they started their own company, Klink Trucking. Wayne and Carol have owned and operated their business for 58 years which is now, The Klink Group.
Wayne attended and was very active in the Stroh Church of Christ.
He was a loving husband, was very proud of his daughters and a proud grandpa to his 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren whom he loved very much.
Wayne married Carol Cole on November 21, 1962 in the Ashley/Hudson Church of the Nazarene and she survives.
He is also survived by 2 daughters and son in laws, Kriss and Bruce Stackhouse of Corunna and Kim and Mike Smith of Waterloo; 3 grandchildren, Logan (Christina) Smith, Brittany (Trent) Shearer and Alex (Amanda) Smith; 6 great grandchildren, Eli Smith, Henry Smith, Macklin Shearer, Knox Shearer, Amos Smith, Mavis Shearer and one that is due to arrive soon; 6 siblings and their spouses, Linda Perkins of Wolcottville, Ruth Ann Rowlison of Kendallville, Richard and Jan Klink of Angola, Lilly Till of Churubusco, George and Marilyn Klink of Wolcottville and Kelly and Tammy Klink of Angola; 3 sister in laws and 4 brother in laws, Sallie Klink, Ark Rinehart, Carol and Asa Harvey, Cindy and Terry Butz and John Tatman and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Dallas Wayne Stackhouse, 2 brothers and 2 sisters in laws, Mike Klink, Chuck and Evie Klink, and Barb Tatman, 2 sisters and 4 brothers in law, Mable and Loren Bowers, Mary Rinehart, Dale Rowlison, Jim Perkins and Harry Till and his in laws, Gerald and Darlene Brown.
Services will be 11 AM Saturday October 28, 2023 at the Stroh Church of Christ, 4540 S 1100 W, Hudson, IN 46747 with Mike Hamm and Dr. Nelson Perdue officiating. Burial will follow the service in Circle Cemetery, Hudson; IN. Calling is Friday from 2 to 8 PM and also 1 hour prior to the service Saturday from 10 to 11 all at the church.
