Waterloo – William “Bill” Edward Basinger, 71, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at his home in Waterloo.
He was born November 19, 1952 in Findlay, Ohio to Hollace K and Rhoda N (Bushong) Basinger and they have both passed away.
Bill retired from Cooper Standard Automotive in 2015 with over 40 years of service.
He was a member of the Auburn Elks Lodge and the NRA.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, gardening, whittling and was a competition marksman.
Bill is survived by his wife, Linda (Steller) Basinger. They were married on December 30, 1993 in Auburn. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Sonja Lingo of Kendallville, and Julie (Danny) Lingo of Hamilton. A son, Jordan Basinger of Indianapolis and a stepdaughter, Laurin (Jimmy) Walters of Waterloo; 8 grandchildren, Alfred, Aidan, Annalise, Payton, Abbott, Aubree, Adelynn, and Bryer; 2 sisters, Sara Smith of North Baltimore, Ohio and Cindy Arrington of McComb, Ohio.
Services will be 1 PM Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN 46706. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service Saturday from 11 to 1 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given in memory of Bill to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, 6316 Mutual Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
