William Fink Obituary

Auburn – William Eaton Fink, 74, previously of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly Saturday August 1, 2026 at his home.

He was born October 15, 1951 in Garrett to Richard and Gloria (Davis) Fink. They have both passed away.

Bill was a DeKalb High School Graduate and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.

He retired as company President from the Auburn Foundry.

Bill was a pilot, flying solo for the first time at 16 years old and earning his license at 17. He was very active in the Auburn Fire Department as a Volunteer Fireman. He also earned his certification as an EMT. He was an avid Purdue fan and a longtime member of the John Purdue Club. Bill enjoyed playing golf and was a former member of Greenhurst Country Club where he served on the Board of Directors as secretary.

Bill always had an adventurous spirit. He and his mother flew on one of the last flights of the Concorde to London. He helicopter skied, summited Mount Kilimanjaro and completed an outward-bound excursion in Alaska, just to name a few. While much of this life was spent traveling, later in life, Bill kept his adventures closer to home, excelling in the roles of husband, father and Popi. He enjoyed doing anything he could for his family and spending time in his woods with his Doberman, Panzer.

Bill is survived by his wife Ginny (Vinson) Fink. They were married January 19, 2011 in Auburn. Also surviving Bill are his son, daughter and grandchildren, Benjamin Miller and Cooper and Piper Miller and Dr. Tessa Creager and Layla Creager; sister and 2 brothers, Janet (Tim) Borden, John (Tammy) Fink and David (Mary) Fink; brothers and sisters in law, Joan and Orval Wallace, Alice and Dennis Ransom, Theresa Harris, Mary Voirol and Nancy and Dillard Jones.
