William G "Bill" Harter

Butler – William G “Bill” Harter, 94 of Butler died Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Laurels of DeKalb. He was born March 17, 1924 in Fort Wayne to William and Emma R (Sapp) Harter. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran and worked as a machine Repairman for Magnavox for 50 years before his retirement in 1988. Bill was a member of the Butler Church of the Nazarene and American Legion Post 202. He married Geraldine Sanders on February 14, 1947 in St. Andrews Catholic Church in Fort Wayne and she died June 20, 2003. He is survived by a son and 2 daughters, William G “Bill” Harter, Jr of Lehigh Ackers, Florida, Patricia Morrison of Butler and Gloria Harter of St. Joe; 3 grandchildren, William G Harter, III, Dawn Sharp, Alan Robinson and 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Harold Harter of Huntington and Clarence Harter. Services will be 2 PM Friday July 20, 2018 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN with burial to follow in Riverview Cemetery, Newville. Calling is 2 hours prior to the service Friday from 12 to 2 PM at the funeral home.
