Auburn – William George King, 87, passed away Saturday May 31, 2025 at his home in Auburn.
He was born in DeKalb County on June 27, 1937 to Alex L and Erna A (Rathge) King.
Bill worked for 32 years at International Harvester retiring in 1998. He also worked as a custodian for over 40 years at Northern Indiana Fuel and Light in Auburn until their closing.
He married Patricia L Yeiser of August 11, 1956 in Indianapolis and she survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons and 2 daughters, William George King II of Auburn, Brian Scott King of Auburn, Beth (Carl) Wyrick of Avilla and Misty (Nathan) Mekus of Defiance, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great, great, grandchildren; 2 sisters and a brother, Rebecca (Tom Stahl) Robinson of Corunna, Lynne Bireley of Angola and Randy (Pam) King of Auburn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sherri King, sister, Shirley Douglas, 2 brothers, Robert King and Richard Lewis, niece Kris Douglas, nephew Joey Robinson and a great granddaughter.
No services are to be held at this time. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery.
