Dear Carolyn and Family,

I was so saddened to hear of Gary's passing. I have the fondest memories of him from childhood. As the longtime baby of all of the Beecher Street Condon families of Lambert, John, and Louis (before Laura came along and usurped my position!) I was slightly shy and sometimes intimidated and overwhelmed by the sheer number and volume of my gregarious cousins! Gary, however, always seemed to have time for me and I remember him often taking the time to listen and comfort, making me feel like I belonged. Later, as an adult, I remember how fiercely proud he was of his children and the joy that would light up in his eyes when he spoke about their accomplishments. I always found him an incredibly kind, compassionate man. My love and sympathy to you all.

“When you face death, the only important thing in life is relationships” – Father John, Hospice Priest.
There is an 8 year difference between my brother and I. My favorite childhood memory is my brother waking up all of his sisters for tacos and milk about 1 am in the morning after a night out at the bars with friends. Best tacos I have ever had! Yes, like our grandfather, Gary enjoyed the “fruit of the vine”. As a young adult in college, I remember school wasn’t for Gary but he sure made friends at every institution he attended; he was more social than scholastic. Like our Dad, Gary was the true definition of a “homebody”. Once Gary had his family, his world went no further than Indiana. He manicured his yard, super cleaned his house and was a great griller. His pork chops were like eating filet mignon. Gary built a full life with a loving, caring wife, children, grandchildren and church community. So my dear brother, job well done!!! I will sadly miss you with my whole heart!!!
