Dear Family of Hilda,
I was unable to come to the funeral and visitation, but wanted to extend my condolences to you as Hilda was always admired in our family. I remember hearing my parents talk about her when I was a little girl. We always delighted in her. We also knew Francis, who lived next door to my aunt and uncle, Don and Ruby Gruver in Edgerton and who was close to my uncle, Russell Obendorf. These ladies were always spoken of with respect and love. Although we were neighbors on Baxter Street since she moved in across the street, I did not get to know Hilda as well as I would have liked to - I lived away from Auburn many years, but when I came home, I always looked for her HUGE hibiscus bushes on the north side of the house and Hilda herself as she went out and about. All seemed right with the world whenever Hilda was on the go. She added such a sparkle to our neighborhood and she will be sorely missed. Sincerely, Ann Grubb

I loved the time I spent with Hilda. We shared many good times together. She loved to laugh and always had a kind word for everyone. I will cherish the butterflies that she gave me. She will be missed.

Remembering an amazing, loving, beautify soul. An outgoing-social-woman who loved her shopping and always had a smile on her face, who never judged but always had kind words to say. She was an inspiration to not only me, but to my sisters as well and too so many others. I am so grateful to be the great granddaughter of such an incredible person. She will forever be a bright light in my memory, I cannot wait to tell Madeleine about her great great grandmother! You will be missed Nana.

Nana,
You were one of the best women I know. You never passed judgment. Your smile could light up the room and anyone's heart, even on the worst day. You were definitely one of a kind! Your elegance and class is paramount to anyone I have met and will probably ever meet.
I wish we could have made it sooner, so you could have met your newest great-great grand son but, I will always remember what you told me the last time I saw you! It made me feel very good and I know that you were proud of me and my accomplishments, even through my failures....... And the look on my husbands face when you started in with your jokes is unforgettable! He will never forget the way you made him feel as well.
You are amazing and through everything you kept your heart pure and my children will always remember that!
The joy that you made them feel and the warm love you gave them will never be forgotten. Jazmyn will truly miss you and the beauty shop moments that mean so much to her.
We love you always and forever to the moon and back, you are now one of God's beautiful angels looking down on us.......
