Geneva H. Sigler, 96, of Auburn passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, at DeKalb Health in Auburn.
Geneva was born June 6, 1921, in DeKalb County, the daughter of the late Louis and Lois (Wideman) McDougall.
She married Harley J. Sigler on April 5, 1941, in Auburn, and he passed away July 7, 2005.
Geneva was a swim instructor and aqua aerobics teacher at the YMCA in Auburn for over 50 years, retiring at the age of 92.
She was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Auburn.
Surviving are a son, Jerry Sigler of Auburn; four daughters, Carol Sigler of Auburn, Joyce Brooks of Quincy, Michigan, Connie and Don Myers of Auburn and Janice and Barry Tilghman of Auburn; five grandchildren, Theresa (Heath) Gillette, Toni (Kyle) Crawford, Christie (Ryan) Greathouse, Derrick (Katie) Myers and Bradley Tilghman; four great-grandchildren, Steel Gillette, Sebastian Gillette, Claire Greathouse and Sawyer Greathouse; and a sister, Vada Albright of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law Shelby Brooks; brother Louis Basil McDougall; and a sister, Demaris Rice.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 211 W. Ninth St., Auburn, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Monday prior to the service. The Rev. Dr. Marcus Carlson will be officiating. Burial will take place in Woodruff Cemetery in rural Wolcottville.
Calling also will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
