Lorene Hogge, 87, of Butler, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Newville.

She was born June 12, 1930, in Drawdy, West Virginia, to Walter B. and Bessie (Harless) Adkins.

Lorene was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Church at Garrett and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Surviving are seven children, Harry (Nancy) Arbaugh of Churubusco, Larry (Debbie) Hogge of Butler, Steve Hogge of New Haven, William (Sharon) Hogge of South Carolina, Carol (Carson Moore) Giratas of Newville, James (Mary Lou) Hogge of Chesterton and Robert Hogge of Fort Wayne; many grandchildren; many many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Cook of Danville, West Virginia, and Sharlet (Lawrence) Massie of Charlottesville, Virginia; and two brothers-in-law, Andy Jooste of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and Bill Cataline of Clatskanie, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Ronald Arbaugh; second husband Mitchell W. Hogge; daughter Wilma Young; son Jerry Hogge; brother Hubert Adkins; and four sisters, Beulah Cataline, Wilma Giles, Alfreda Jooste and Odesa McManis.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with Pastor Tom Wilcoxson officiating. Burial will take place in Butler Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
