My Condolences to your family.I unfortunally share this awful pain. I lost my 18 year old 5 years ago. I went to DeKalb. Indiana will always be my home. My heart aches for the pain of this tragic lost of such a beautiful daughter. A beautiful Angel with a voice to match. If there is anything I can do, even later on. I belong to a few groups on line who have been my rock since I lost my son. I can share. You can contact me through email. you are in our prayers... Joanne

I'm sitting here thinking of this time when Tabby came to stay at my house one night in 6th grade, we rode my golf cart out in the country, ate ice cream and talked for hours.. It was a blast. But then we drifted apart and we hardly ever spoke. High school came along and she met new people but we always had the time to wave and say hey in the hallways. The fact that this amazing girl won't be saying hey to me in the hallways breaks my heart. RIP Tabby gone but never forgotten.

How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand... there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep, that have taken hold.

i was in the middle of CAD class when i heard the news. and again my heart started to break. i experenced first hand the death of a beloved classmate. i an from the class of 2011 from DeKalb and we lost one of our own. but to make it worst, we lost two more, one from the class of 2010 and one from the class of 2009. I kept asking God why? why does he take the best? why do people die so young, those whose lives were so filled and so much were going for them? for months i struggled without knowing. then one day i read a book that was written by Brain Jacques. in it he had the main hero's love die in a tragic event. when asked about that death, Brain said "such is life"
Such is life...
I thought about it for a long time. At first it only made me angry all over again. It sounded so flippant! i hated him for that answer! i hated the world, i hated everything because our own classmates were taken from us.
But i discovered that he was right. The question was about death, and his response was a simple explanation that death happens. Death is an everyday tragedy.
"Such is life" may have come across as uncaring rude, cruel, ect, but it was true and deep and real. Brian Jacques wrote books for children, and while it was a fictional world so much of what he wrote about was real. Death was one of those things. Characters died, people die, even the best ones, die.
"Such is life" he had once said of death. It is still true and today it sounds hardly as careless as it first sound when i read it.
"Such is life" he said. But it wasn't a slight on the important and miraculous thing that is life as much as it was a humble admittance that we all will face death one day, and we do not have the power to choose the time or the place. Do you know why it bothered me so much that Rose, the hero's love, died? i realized that people die, but the ones we agonize over the most are the deaths that felt too soon. the ones that died too young. Tabby left way too soon. we are going to miss you Tabby but i know that we are going to meet again in heaven .

i always considered all the chiors as a big family. my heart goes out to my fellow classmates and my family during this hard time. prayers to the Meade family. we are there for you.
